Mitogen guide
Mitogen connects your assistant (Grok, ChatGPT, Claude or Mistral) to your company's tools: your mailbox, your files, Odoo… You keep working in the conversation as usual, and the assistant searches, writes and sends for you, with your own accounts and within the rules set for your workspace.
This guide explains how to set everything up, then how to work day to day. It is written for you, and also for your assistant, which can read it to walk you through each step.
Two places, two jobs
It helps to know from the start where things happen.
- The work happens in your assistant. That is where you open a case, find an email, draft a reply or replay a recipe. There is no form to fill in: you just ask.
- The Mitogen console, at https://mitogen.ai ↗, is for setup. You manage your account and your connections there. The owner and admins open tools for the team, invite colleagues, and handle seats and billing.
Setup steps are always done by a person, in their browser. The assistant can point you to the right console page, but you are the one who gives consent and types credentials. For the same reason, never paste a password or a key into the conversation.
Words worth knowing
A few words come up throughout this guide. Here they are, once and for all.
- Workspace: your company's workspace (or your personal one). You work in one workspace at a time. If you have several, just tell the assistant which one to use.
- Tool and binding: a tool (Outlook, Gmail, Teams, Microsoft files, Google Drive, Odoo, Telegram) is first opened for the workspace by an admin. That opening is called a binding. It carries a name the admin chose, so people can recognize it.
- Connection: your own account, linked to a binding. The binding opens the tool for the team; the connection is you signing in with your own credentials. Mitogen always acts with your rights, never with someone else's.
- Seat: a person's place in the workspace. It allows them up to 16 connections at the same time.
- Case: a subject you want to keep and follow (a customer, an order, a deal), with its messages, files and notes. You can invite colleagues to it.
- Recipe: a sequence of steps you want to repeat, taken from a case, which you then replay on other cases.
All these words, and a few more (console, Capture, roles, authorization…), are explained in more detail in the Glossary.
Where to start
The usual order, for a company getting started:
- The administrator opens the tools for the team in Tools, then invites colleagues and gives them a seat in Run the workspace.
- Each person adds Mitogen to their assistant, once: Connect Mitogen to your assistant.
- Each person links their own accounts (mailbox, Odoo…): Your connections.
- Then everyone works in the assistant: Work in a case.
If you are joining a team that is already set up, steps 2 and 3 are all you need.
This guide covers Grok, ChatGPT, Claude and Mistral.
