# Glossary

This page gathers the words you will come across in Mitogen, with a plain explanation for each one. It is meant for people and for assistants alike: if a word stops you on another page, you will find here what it means, and the page that explains it in detail.

The examples all follow the same story: Odoo order S00042 for the Dupont company, Mr Dupont's latest email, the PDF quote stored in SharePoint, and the "Quote follow-up" recipe.

## Assistant (or host)

The assistant is the artificial intelligence you talk with: Grok, ChatGPT, Claude or Mistral. It is also called the host, because it is the one that welcomes Mitogen. All the work happens in your conversation with it. See [Connect Mitogen to your assistant](/en/start).

## MCP connector

The connector is what you add once to your assistant so that it can talk to Mitogen. Its address is `https://mitogen.ai/mcp`. MCP is simply the name of the shared protocol that lets an assistant plug into a service such as Mitogen. See [Connect Mitogen to your assistant](/en/start).

## Authorization

When you add the connector, a Mitogen page opens in your browser and asks you to agree that the assistant may act for you: that is the authorization (technical people call it OAuth). You also choose there which workspace to connect the assistant to. Thanks to this step, you never have to give your password to the assistant, or paste it into the conversation. See [Connect Mitogen to your assistant](/en/start).

## Console

The console, at [https://mitogen.ai](https://mitogen.ai), is where things are set up: your account, your connections and, for the owner and admins, the tools, the team, the seats and billing. It is not where you work day to day: the work itself happens in the assistant. See the [Guide](/en/index).

## Workspace

The workspace is your company's workspace, or your personal one. It brings together the open tools, the people and the seats. You work in one workspace at a time; if you have several, just tell the assistant which one to use. See [Run the workspace](/en/admin).

## Roles: owner, admin, member

Every person in a workspace has a role. The owner is responsible for the workspace; an admin does the same job day to day: team, tools, billing and seats. A member can see the team, works in their cases and links their own accounts, but cannot invite, change a role or assign a seat. See [Run the workspace](/en/admin).

## Tool and binding (module)

A tool is a piece of company software that Mitogen knows how to use: Outlook, Gmail, Teams, Microsoft files (including SharePoint), Google Drive, Odoo or Telegram. In the console, tools are opened from the **Modules** section. When an admin opens a tool for the workspace, that opening is called a binding, and the admin gives it a name everyone recognizes, for example "Odoo production". See [Tools](/en/tools).

## Connection

A connection is your own account, linked to a binding. If the admin has opened "Odoo production", you sign in to it with your own credentials, and the assistant can then find order S00042 with your rights, never with someone else's. See [Your connections](/en/connections).

## Reconnect

This badge appears on a connection when the tool no longer recognizes your session. Just click **Reconnect** and repeat the same step as the first time; nothing is lost, and your cases stay as they are. If the assistant suddenly says it can no longer read your mailbox, this is often the first thing to check. See [Your connections](/en/connections).

## Seat

A seat is a person's place in the workspace: one seat per person, and up to 16 connections at the same time. There is a single offer: €40.00 excl. VAT per person per month, free until the end of 2026. See [The seat](/en/seats).

## Case

A case gathers a subject you want to keep and follow, with its messages, files and notes. For example, the case for the Dupont company's order S00042 can hold Mr Dupont's latest email and the PDF quote stored in SharePoint. You can invite colleagues to it. See [Work in a case](/en/work).

## Recipe

A recipe is a sequence of steps taken from a case, which you then replay on another case. For example, once you have followed up with Mr Dupont about his quote, you turn that case into the "Quote follow-up" recipe, then play it on another customer's order. See [Play a recipe](/en/recipes).

## Capture

Capture is a small add-on, for your browser or for Outlook, that puts the item in front of you into a case, or opens your assistant directly on that case. For example, you are reading Mr Dupont's email in Outlook: in one click, Capture files it in the S00042 case. See [Capture and open](/en/capture).
